National Standards for Higher Education Programme Accreditation

The National Standards for Programme Accreditation was approved by the NHTEB in its first meeting in 2017. It is a requirement under the Higher Education (General Provisions) Act 2014 that all programmes offered by institutions meet these set of standards in order for their programmes to be accredited and registered in the National Register. These programmes standards will be supported by the PNG Qualifications Framework once it is approved. Any programmes currently on offer that do not meet the requirements set in these standards are deemed illegal under the Higher Education (General Provisions) Act 2014.
